Greetings KACP,
Many of us who have been in ministry for some time can admit today that it never gets easier. There are challenges and opportunities that come to us each and every day and our aim and prayer is that we serve God’s plan as we tackle them. It seems strange to hear myself speak of forty years of service to the Lord and to the New Psalmist Congregation. I have seen so many changes over these forty years and I have seen ministries wrestle with how to best serve God in these changing times. That issue does not go away. The question seems to loom large and often reminds us that we too need to trust God for the success and effectiveness of this work. KACP is our attempt to encourage one another as we do this work. I have not seen the church or pastor that does not need encouragement. We are seeking to help churches and pastors understand they are not in the struggle alone.
We all are fighting the good fight of faith. To this end we have planned the July KACP Conference to be an awesome time for pastors and their people. We are looking at how to do Church better and how to make things happen in a time when so much works against the Church. This is a major time for our congregations. We want them to sense that God has churches committed to the work of advancing the kingdom and overcoming obstacles. This year’s Conference will provide a unique opportunity to explore creative ways to do ministry regardless of congregational size, budget, location and staffing. Workshops will be designed to open our vision scope regarding how technology can aid your ministry and communicating with, and to the congregation. Also this year’s conference will explore creative and cutting edge ways to share the gospel and of course we will discuss how to finance ministry beyond regular church offerings
We hope to see hundreds make their way to Baltimore July 20-22, 2015 for a major time together. We will have worship at night and sessions during the day that will strengthen each church worker and leader. We are committed to strong churches with strong leadership. Our Conference theme is Dreaming Big Dreams and we hope members will board buses, trains, and airplanes and make their way here. You will be blessed. We will be providing regular Conference updates and registration will begin in February. Now enjoy what God is doing in your life.
Thank you,
Bishop Walter S. Thomas, Sr.

Greetings KACP,
I hope all of you are doing well and that you are gearing up for a powerful and productive summer. I am excited about the coming together of our group for the KACP Conference here at New Psalmist July 18-20, 2012. This year we are tackling a major issue, “The Case For Integrity.” We have all seen the tragic demise of so many of our colleagues. We have watched them paraded through the press with allegations dangling over their head while their ministries burned almost to ash. The Adversary has found a way to cripple our work. He attacks the integrity of the ministry and causes persons to lose their trust in the pastor and leadership and ultimately in God. This will be an important topic and I encourage everyone to be present and to bring your congregations so that they too may learn these valuable lessons. Deacons and Trustee, Staff members and Ministers has all been the target of the Adversary and the church has paid for their actions.
Register today and make sure you are a part of this most significant meeting. I am sure it will change your thinking and cause you to see ministry responsibility in a brand new light.
There are so many strong men and women in our organization. I pray that you are taking the time to get to know each other. I have watched so many of you grow into powerful men and women of God and I believe the doors for greater service are always opened to those who love people and deeply desire to see lives changed. At this years conference we will do some things that strengthen us in our fellowship one with another.
I look forward to seeing you in just a few weeks. There are so many deep issues for us to discuss. I hope you will join us for KACP Conference 2012.
Thank you,
Bishop Walter S. Thomas, Sr.

Welcome to Baltimore
We are delighted to have KACP in Charm City. Baltimore is one of the great cities of the East Coast and we are happy that we can host the conference. We have been planning and preparing for your coming. Our Executive Council and Executive Team have worked long and hard to make sure that we leave with direction concerning “Building the Church from the Crowd of the Congregation". Within our churches are persons who are hungering for a more vital encounter with Christ and who want to be a part of his revolutionary redemptive work. The church is by definition “the called out,” and this week we will be empowering persons to step out and respond to the Lord’s word spoken into their lives. This is the season of the church and we must make sure that the bride is ready to perform her role.
In the sessions and seminars, we have brought some of the nations finest thinkers and spiritual guides. They will be a blessing to us and to our congregations. Glean all you can this week and take it home to your congregation and watch God move! I look forward to meeting with you and talking with you about your ministry and the work you are doing. We are a fellowship and as such we care about the growth of individual members and churches. We are going to have a great time this week and we will leave here saying, “did not our hearts burn within us…”
